About the School. The University of Ottawa, in the heart of the National Capital Region, was the first Canadian institution to offer professional translation courses at the university level―in 1936. This training was formalized in 1971 when the School of Translation and Interpretation was founded. Learn more about the School. I am looking at programs, and I am looking at the University of Ottawa science programs (because Ottawa is close to where I am and seems like a good school). I looked at the Ophthalmic Medical Technology program, and it seems interesting, however my ultimate goal still is to go to Med School.
